An FDA Commercial Readiness Checklist

Assess market, launch, channel, partner and operating readiness for an FDA-regulated product in one connected commercial checklist.

The regulatory pathway and commercial readiness require different expertise, but they are not independent on the road to the US market. This checklist helps connect requirements verified by qualified regulatory specialists to commercial decisions.

1. Document product and market assumptions

Bring target patient or customer segments, competition, differentiation assumptions and commercial implications of the pathway into one decision document.

2. Identify critical dependencies

Make visible which manufacturing, supply, labeling, channel, data and partner decisions depend on verified regulatory milestones.

  • Assign an owner to each dependency.
  • Record assumptions and validation sources.
  • Model delays that may affect launch.
  • Refresh readiness status regularly.

3. Make commercial readiness measurable

Do not leave “ready” as a general opinion. Establish measurable acceptance criteria for channels, teams, data, reporting and partners.
